Hunt as Teddy
Honey, doors, and patience — how the bear actually wins a six-player lobby.
Getting selected as Teddy feels like the game handed you a costume. It did not. It handed you a second win condition: stop the exit. Kids have keys, vents, and a timer that can still beat you if you wander. This page is the hunter class for GnomeCode’s Teddy, not a joke about hugging randoms in the lobby fountain.
What you get when the role lands
In Player mode you become the bear and you receive a limited honey stack — commonly talked about as ten jars at the start of a hunt, with more available from the shop over time. Honey is a floor trap. A child who steps in it stops long enough for a hug if you are already turning the corner. It is not a nuke. Throwing all ten jars in the spawn rug is how you lose to a team that simply took the other hall.
AI mode does not give you this kit. The server drives the monster and skips honey. If you disconnect as Player Teddy, the round often converts to AI. Your teammates will notice. Finish the hunt or do not queue as someone who wants the role.
Nightmare still lets a human Teddy exist, then adds infection. Your first hug creates more problems for survivors than a normal hug. Read Nightmare mode before you treat every down as the end of the story.
Honey that does work
Place honey on doors the objective requires twice. Place honey at the mouth of a crawl the kids love. Place honey on the final lock approach, not on the lock itself if it blocks your own pathing. Save two jars for the last minute when everyone sprints and stops thinking.
Do not place honey in a room you cannot rotate back to. You are large. Some vents are not yours. Small Nightmare Teddies can use baby paths; you cannot always follow. If you waste jars in a toy pit you cannot enter, the kids will laugh on the way out.
The shop is where extra honey lives between rounds. Puzzle Pieces spent here change hunts. Pieces spent on a unicorn face do not.
Patrol like a goalie, not a tourist
You do not need to see every room. You need to see the rooms that mint progress. Watch the first key door. Watch the item bench. Watch the exit. Kids who learned how to survive will try to pull you with noise. Ignore a toy kick in a dead-end if a lock just clicked across the map.
Doors cut both ways. A kid closing a door buys time. You opening every door announces you. Learn which chapters have slow wooden doors. Camp and later maps punish a bear who tunnel-visions a single closet.
Use the chapter pages against them. If the lobby voted Chapter 3 Toy Store, they need batteries and silver tools. Stand near those loops, not near a window because it looks cinematic. If they voted Chapter 4 Zoo, the map is wide. Cut across, do not parade the fence line.
Double Teddy Chance
The 120 Robux pass doubles your odds of being selected. It does not make honey infinite. It does not make you faster. Buy it only if you already enjoy the role and you play enough nights for the extra rolls to matter. The game pass tier puts it below Double Pieces for most accounts and above cosmetics.
If you never win as Teddy, the pass will only show you the same mistakes twice as often. Practice in Player mode without the pass. Learn one map’s choke. Then spend Robux.
After a wipe or a leak
If the kids leave, you still did the job of teaching the next lobby. If they leave with thirty seconds on the clock, you camped the wrong door. Review which item finished the route. The chapter checklist is useful for hunters too — it is a list of what they must touch.
Do not harass in chat after a hug. The role is the joke. The player is not. Rotate back to the lobby, vote again, and if you want survivor practice, force AI and open Getting Started. The best Teddies on this game are people who already escaped the same map with a key in their hand.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers players ask after a failed escape.
How many honey jars do I start with?
Player Teddy typically starts with a limited stack around ten. Shop honey can add more between rounds. AI Teddy does not throw honey.
Does Double Teddy Chance work immediately?
The pass text says to join a new server. Rejoin after purchase. Value notes sit on the [game pass tier](/tier-list/game-passes/).
Can Teddy crawl the baby vents?
Full-size Teddy usually cannot. Nightmare small Teddies can. That is why [Nightmare](/guides/nightmare-mode/) feels unfair to survivors.
Should I chase the noisiest player?
Only if they are holding the last objective. Noise bait is a survivor tactic from [how to survive](/guides/how-to-survive/).
