Teddy Chapter 4 Zoo
Wide paths, extra tools, and a panda-shaped problem when AI is in the vote.
The Zoo is the chapter that ends groups. It is bright enough to feel fair and wide enough to waste a minute between two useful props. Community notes put the timer near eight minutes. Badge stats sit around one and a half percent. That is not because the puzzles are Latin. It is because people sprint the boardwalk and forget fish and cogs exist.
Vote only when the group is bored of stores
Do not vote Zoo as a first night. Beat Nursery and at least one of Camp or Toy Store. AI Zoo is already an exam. Player Teddy on a wide map can miss you — or can cut the only bridge. Nightmare Zoo is a highlight reel, not a plan. The maps tier list ranks this chapter at the hard end for a reason.
When AI is Teddy, the mesh can appear as a panda. Same hug. Same audio rules. Do not stop to screenshot.
Fish, cogs, and rescue flavor
Zoo tools that do not show up earlier include fish and cogs. Fish belong to an animal or exhibit interact. Cogs belong to a mechanical gate, ride, or service door. If you leave either on a bench “for later,” later is the timer. Carry them the way Toy Store players should carry batteries.
The story beat includes rescuing family — mom and dad energy — which adds extra stops. Extra stops are why the map feels busy. The same-day Happy Family toast is that reunion, not a seventh chapter. Tick every named interact on the chapter checklist. If your team argues about whether the gate already opened, you are playing without a list.
Sweep in rings from the entrance exhibits, not from the far fence. The far fence is where people go to die with a pretty view.
Width is the enemy
A wide path is a sprint invitation. Decline it. Walk when audio is uncertain. Crouch only for gaps and for silence, not for the entire boardwalk — you will lose the timer. Cross open yards at the edge, not the middle, if the bear is a silhouette in the distance.
Hides exist behind counters and in service rooms. They are worse than Nursery closets because the next objective might be a forty-second walk. Use the hide-spot tool for a window, then move. A long hide on Zoo is how the eight minutes vanish.
Split into two pairs, not six solos and not one blob. Pairs can carry a cog and still have a watcher. Six solos means six people who do not know the fish already moved.
Last gate
The last mechanical or family interact is a camp spot. Human Teddy will honey it. AI will wander toward the noise of four kids arriving at once. Send two, not six. Walk the last approach. If a teammate goes down, remember how to escape: the badge is the exit, not the reunion screenshot.
The mid-article video is a full Chapter 4 run. Watch the pacing, not just the ending. Then run AI until fish and cogs feel as obvious as a red key.
After the zoo
Mark Chapter Four. If the parent reunion also toasted, tick Happy Family. If you still have energy, Chapter 5 is Teddy’s Pizza Place — do not add Nightmare on the same night. If you wiped, replay Zoo in AI or drop back to Toy Store to remember named tools. The Roles hub can wait. The fence cannot.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers players ask after a failed escape.
What unique items are in the Zoo?
Fish and cogs, plus keys. Fish feed exhibit interacts. Cogs turn mechanical gates. Do not leave them on a bench.
Why is Teddy a panda sometimes?
On this map, AI Teddy can appear as a panda. The hunt rules do not change.
How long do we have?
Community notes often cite about eight minutes. Play like you have less. Width steals time.
Is Zoo the hardest chapter?
It is the hardest of the well-documented maps. See the [maps tier list](/tier-list/) and keep [Chapter 5](/guides/chapter-5/) in mind as a later exam.
